Requirements and Qualifications

• Must be an existing home, not new construction.
• One unit per home. Upon approval, additional heat pumps may qualify.
• Gas, wood heating, pellet stoves, and propane system conversions do not qualify.
• Minimum HSPF (Heating Seasonal Performance Factor), and SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) ratings as listed in rebate table.
• Work must be completed by a qualified HVAC contractor.
• Air source heat pump must be a new AHRI (Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute) rated, air-source split or packaged unitary heat pump.
• Air source heat pump must be listed on the AHRI Certified Directory: ahridirectory.org
• For heat pump upgrades, the previous primary heat source must have been a permanently installed ducted electric heat pump.
• For heat pump conversions, the previous primary heat source must have been a permanently installed electric resistance heating system (e.g., electric furnace, electric ceiling/wall heat).
• Must submit completed application.
• Itemized receipt or contractor invoice.
• Application must be received within 180 days of installation.
• Rebate cannot exceed 50% of the project costs.

Ceiling fans are an efficient way to maintain a comfortable temperature, when either heating or cooling. Most ceiling fans can rotate clockwise or counterclockwise. In the summer have the fan rotate in the direction that pushes the air down. Feeling the movement of the air makes it feel cooler in the room. In the winter have the fan rotate in the direction to pull the air up. This helps maintain a more consistent temperature by circulating the air.

• Ductless heat pump must employ an inverter driven outdoor compressor unit and a variable speed fan for indoor blower.
